Why are my toenails discolored?

You may have a condition called onychomycosis (fungal toenail infection). The condition only affects the toenail and causes it to become discolored, thick, and brittle. However, if your toenail is black, there is a chance that other conditions may have caused the discoloration, including previous nail trauma, psoriasis, eczema, etc. It’s important for you to make an appointment to have the nail tested and then treated once we know the cause of the discoloration.

We have a variety of treatment options, such as toenail laser treatment, topical mediation, etc., to help manage the infection and improve the nail condition.
